Characteristics of This Project

  • There are two types of forms for this project.
  • Usually 50 records per image.
  • Contains only one image per batch.

Description of the Records

  • The 1920 U.S. Federal Census is handwritten on typed forms.
  • This project has census schedules for military (including navy vessels), for consular services, and for civilians located at military stations.
  • The records were recorded on two different census schedules:

Military Schedule Names were recorded in column 1.

Population Schedule Names were recorded in column 5.

  • The census schedules are similar, but not all of the heading fields on the data entry screen have data on the regular 1920 population schedule. Also, the location of data is different on the two types of schedules.
