Description of the Records
This project was initiated by the California Genealogical Society and Library. It is a collection of San Francisco mortuary records from 14 defunct funeral homes dating from 1850 to 1917. Many of these records survived the 1906 earthquake, which destroyed many of the city and county records.
There are no restrictions associated with this collection. The completed index and links to digital images will be freely accessible online to the general public when the collection is published.
