Record Type

Record Type

The records were written in different formats depending on who recorded them and when they were recorded. Many of the images do not have headings to describe what the records are or what the information is that was recorded. Please review each record carefully to determine the record type and identify the information for the requested fields.

This project includes three record types:

  • Födelse och dop (births and baptisms): These records generally have a child's given name, birth and baptism dates, a place of residence, and the names of one or both parents.
  • Lysning och vigsel (banns and marriages): These records can usually be identified by the names of a bride and groom. They will normally include the marriage date and residences of the bride and groom. Occasionally, the names of the bride's parents will be recorded.
  • Död och begravning (deaths and burials): These records generally have the name of the deceased, death and burial dates, a residence, and the age of the deceased.

To select the record type:

  1. Click in the Record Type field.
  2. Click the down arrow.
  3. Click the correct record type.

If an image shows only other types of records, such as immigration (in- och utflyttade) or accounts (räkenskaper) documents, mark the image as a No Extractable Data Image in the Image Type field.
