Sample Images

Number of Records per Image

  • The data entry area of the indexing screen is set at one record per image. If your batch includes images with more than one record, you will need to adjust the number of entry records to match the number of records on the image. To add entry records:
    1. On the menu bar, click Tools.
    2. Click Records per Image...
    3. Click in the Number of records box, and type the number of records on the image.
    4. Click OK.

Language for Field Names

  • The indexing field names and the field helps in the bottom right corner of the indexing screen are available in German and in English. To change the language:
    1. At the top of the indexing screen, click Tools.
    2. Click on Options...
    3. Click on the Language tab.
    4. Click in the Language for Field Names box and Language for Field Help and Project Information box, and select the preferred option.
    5. Close the batch, and reopen it for the change to take effect.

International Letters

  • If the name of a person or a locality was written with a character not available on your keyboard, such as the umlaut ü in Müller, please insert the letter by doing the following:
    1. On the menu bar, click Edit.
    2. Click International Letters...
    3. Click on the letter you want to insert.

    1. Click the Enter Special International Characters icon on the menu bar above the data-entry area (which is a square shape with an ñ on it).
    2. Click on the letter you want to insert.
  • If the characters you need are not on the International Characters popup, you can copy the character from your computer’s Character Map (Microsoft Windows) or Character Palette (Mac OS) and paste it into the entry field.
  • You may also want to change your keyboard layout to the German keyboard.
